super duper caperlicious

Superman, Iron Man, Spider-Man... I was trying to channel the inner boy here, the tomboy in me. Loved the colours on this Stella McCartney for Gap Kids tee. So I had to kinda centre every superhero bit possible to support the t-shirt. The 'Super' belt, the shiny shoes, the jacket acting as a cape. And the rest..... use your imagination!

Have a good week ahead! XO

all i wanted was a headpiece with huge plumes of feathers

When I was putting this look together, all I could think was to don a dramatic Red Indian head piece. Don't ask me why, just how my mind works I guess. I suppose the other thing that probably crosses your mind is that I am possibly obsessed with stripes, non? Well, yes, but, this dress just happen to be a distraction. A basic distraction. I was trying to channel this 'hippie princess' look. Tsssk! Whatevs or ridic as some of you might say. Yes, I laugh too! It's fun to be playful, non? I also decided to pose by one of my favourite art pieces, which happens to be a series of prints which consists of butterfly wings. So intricate, delicate, so beautiful. The artist is Donna Ong who is based in Singapore. The last time I saw her exhibit it was titled Palace of Dreams (2004), a work involving intricate drawings of insects and a mahogany desk transformed into a plane, referencing fairy tales and childhood dreams. Flights of fantasy indeed.

I promised myself as a child
never to forget what it felt like to be a child
to dream and invest in the imaginary
The fantastic, the impossible

a balmy evening in hong kong

Entrance to FelixView from the ladies at FelixThe view from Sevva

Being on the mainland always requires a visit to the Peninsula Hotel. The Peninsula Hong Kong has long been hailed as one of the finest hotels in the world. Created 75 years ago in the glamorous 1920s, the legendary "Grande Dame of the Far East" continues to set hotel standards worldwide. Although it is mostly de rigueur to have afternoon tea there, I was curious to check out the the new Felix Bar designed by Phillipe Starck on the 28th floor, promising incredible views across the harbour to Hong Kong Island from. Well, it did not disappoint. A perfect spot to rest your tired feet after a long day of sight-seeing or the perfect place for a romantic rendezvous.

Back to Hong Kong island later that evening where I was invited to dinner at Sevva on the 25th floor of Alexandra House. Again, the view from the top was AH-MAZING as seen in the photos. At this point, I am having such a good time that the photos also became slightly blurry and the artsy content or composition slightly compromised
! Yikes!
