perennial favourites
Totally in a playful mood here. I guess it is a tribute to the necklace. The ICE-CREAM necklace that I love so much. The simple jersey body-con dress has been a wardrobe staple as well. So easy and effortless... clean, classic and cool. Nuff said.
Bonne weekend everyone! Bisous! XO

till the clock strikes ten
This was a cool place to hang out in the heart of Old Street. This new joint, just two weeks old by ex-Kingly Club veteran Dezzi Mc Causland is as cool as Steve McQueen himself in Bullit. Dark interiors complimented by Chesterfields and raw brick work - sexy and broody. The cocktail list brimming with familiar names and a lot of references to the genre of films that McQueen was famous for.
For sexy summer nights or if you fancy an intimate dinner or a boogie to some live bands/performances such as Keane and David Guetta..... head down or mellow down with a Thomas Crown Affair.

luxuries of sacrifice/sacrifice for luxuries
Luxury and Sacrifice(1898)
Author: Charles Fletcher Dole (an American minister in the Unitarian Church)
Unlike many historical books about luxury goods which tend to warn of their destructive power, or which seek to use luxury as a way to regulate cultural divisions, it’s a clear-sighted treatise about the role of luxury as a social tool to connect people to the sacred.

when you are going around in circles
A Tool To Deceive And Slaughter by Caleb Larsen combines Robert Morris’ Box With the Sound of Its Own Making with Baudrillard’s writing on the art auction. This sculpture exists in eternal transactional flux. It is a physical sculpture that is perpetually attempting to auction itself on eBay.
Every ten minutes the black box pings a server on the internet via the ethernet connection to check if it is for sale on the eBay. If its auction has ended or it has sold, it automatically creates a new auction of itself. If a person buys it on eBay, the current owner is required to send it to the new owner. The new owner must then plug it into ethernet, and the cycle repeats itself.

ciao bella!
The new Dolce & Gabbana summer collection will debut here very soon, which is always an exciting time for beauty enthusiasts. There’s little not to love about the makeup arm of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s sartorial operation: The seasonal colour palettes are dreamt up in collaboration with face-painting legend Pat McGrath; the gold compacts and lipstick tubes make you feel like you’re a part of something particularly luxurious every time you open them; and everything they turn out is meant to meet at the intersection of classic Hollywood glamour and something wholly Italian. This time around, it was about delicate images of wild roses set against the Sicilian night’s “daring shades of romance and mystery,” according to Dolce. As such, a series of nude and pink pigments was matched with darker greens and blues. Standouts include Shocking, a perfect fuchsia nail polish; Laguna, an eye shadow duo that pairs a shimmering deep moss color with aqua for a mix of seascape and garden visuals; and Delicious, an opaque coral/pink lip gloss that is fitting in perfectly with our newfound love of lightweight lip lacquers. It’s like…how did they know?!

The video doesn’t give much away in regards to an actual plot – but who really cares when its stars are this beautiful? The new trailer for Karl Lagerfeld’s upcoming short film, “Remember Now”, features French actor Pascal Greggory partying alongside Superstar DJ Leigh Lezark, as well as models de jour Freja Beha Erichsen, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Heidi Mount, Karolina Kurkova and the ever-present Baptiste Giabiconi.
The film will be shown tonight in its entirety at the Chanel Cruise 2011 presentation in Saint Tropez.

top your way to your beauty bag
Topshop’s cosmetics line officially debuted last week. While it won’t likely cause the kind of line-down-the-street frenzy characteristic of a limited-edition designer collab making haste to their flagship store on Oxford Circus is still advisable. That’s because this stuff is pretty darn cute. The range features a core collection of staples as well as seasonally driven trend collections that echo the fashion-forward aesthetic behind the retailer’s clothes (S/S 2010 is all about the festival spirit; Glastonbury may still be a month away, but there’s no reason you can’t start channeling your inner folk goddess a little bit early). They’ve taken everything into account, too: from adorable, hand-drawn packaging to a great color palette of lip and eye products and an impressive array of complexion-enhancers and fun nail lacquers. The products became available on the online store last week, but if you can make it down to the West End to get the tactile experience of playing with some of the standouts (there is a Lip and Cheek Tint that I'm currently digging), it’s well worth the trip.

bonbon de famille à la maison
Quick Quiz: Which iconic designer does this apartment make you think of? Answer: Jean Paul Gaultier, absolument! (If you answered anyone else, I think you're on the wrong fashion planet!!!) The former abode of French architect Jacque Carlu has had Christian Lacroix and Martin Margiela take the design reins in the past (in 2008 and 2009), but 2010 belongs to JPG, who decked the place out in his signature Breton stripes. Sure, it makes you a little dizzy but beautiful fashion does that to us sometimes too, non?

benvenuti in paradiso
Dubai’s bottomless appetite for superlatives—biggest this, tallest this, best that—makes it an entirely appropriate venue for a significant first from Giorgio Armani. Last Tuesday night, the designer cut the ribbon on his first hotel. It takes up ten floors of the Burj Khalifa, at 2,717 feet the tallest building in the world. To make sense of a numeral like that, simply note that the offices of Mohamed Alabbar, chairman of Emaar Properties, the developer behind the numbingly massive Downtown Dubai project, are on the 158th floor. Vertiginists can still their cold sweat, however. The Armani Hotel—and the residences that make up the rest of the Armani real estate—are at the base of the building (although, on this scale, 39 floors feels down to earth). So, if you want to touch the 'heavens', you know where to venture to next.

super duper caperlicious
Superman, Iron Man, Spider-Man... I was trying to channel the inner boy here, the tomboy in me. Loved the colours on this Stella McCartney for Gap Kids tee. So I had to kinda centre every superhero bit possible to support the t-shirt. The 'Super' belt, the shiny shoes, the jacket acting as a cape. And the rest..... use your imagination!
Have a good week ahead! XO
