the chinese conjurer
Who knew Picasso designed costumes for the ballet? Well he did. And this the most striking of them all. This was the first ballet to include cubism sets and costumes. The red
Chinese jacket with gold swirls and wide striped trousers worn by Léon
Woizikosky survived the Second World War buried in a trunk in Warsaw.
The Chinese jacket and trouser design is made of silk, satin, silver
tissue and appliquéd silver cloth, complete with woolen pigtail.
